Berkeley, January 31, 2014 – Berkeley Public Library has launched its new website, www.berkeleypubliclibrary.org, showcasing the Library’s connection to the community while providing easy access to its dynamic print, music, film and digital collections. As part of the development of the new site, the Library’s web team involved staff and members of the community from the beginning: soliciting input, conducting user testing and collecting and analyzing survey data.

Berkeley, February 3, 2014. The Berkeley Public Library annual report covering the 2013 fiscal year is now available electronically on the library’s website. The report, in narrative and photographs documents the various programs and activities of the library and a fiscal summary. This year’s theme is a year of progress and innovation.

The Berkeley Public Library will continue offering its free job counseling in 2014. Experienced Career Counselors from North Cities One Stop will provide drop-in career counseling the fourth Wednesday of every month at 2:00. p.m. in the Central Library’s Third Floor Electronic Classroom.

Bay Area artist Charles Curtis Blackwell exhibits paintings and drawings exploring themes of Africa and the jazz aesthetic at the Central Library from February 10th – April 20th, 2014. Blackwell will speak about his work and his personal journey as a legally blind artist during an Artist Talk on Sunday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the 3rd floor Community Meeting Room of the Central Library.
