Friends of the Berkeley Public Library
The Friends of the Berkeley Public Library is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to support and expand the educational, cultural, and outreach programs of the Library. The Friends work with library staff to build collections and to stimulate community interest in the Library.
The Friends invite your membership.
Annual dues: $25
We will gladly accept your tax deductible contribution of any amount.
The organization is governed by a Board of Directors which meets monthly.
The quarterly newsletter, Berkeley Bookmark
, is distributed to members and is also available at all library locations.

The Friends also maintain ongoing mini book sales in the Central Library and in the four branch libraries.
The Bookstores depend entirely on donations of books, tapes, videos, CDs, and DVDs. No LPs and no magazines, please, except for National Geographic or Architectural Digest. All items should be in good condition. Please, no mildewed or underlined books. Donations can be brought to the bookstores during business hours or call 510-841-5604 for donation pick-up.
The Bookstores are staffed by more than 75 volunteers. Additional volunteers are always welcome. Leave your name and phone number at 981-6152 and the Friends will contact you.
