California is a place of constant geologic transformation. Volcanic eruptions, erosion, earthquakes and seismic activity have left their mark on the local, regional and state parks of California. Katherine Baylor, geologist and author of California Rocks! A Guide to the Geologic Sites in the Golden State will lead a fascinating talk and digital tour of local parks at the Berkeley Public Library. Come learn about the coal beds of Black Diamond Mines, the Trail Through Time in Mount Diablo State Park, the fragile geology of Vasco Caves, the trace fossils of San Gregorio State Park and more.
