Join Carrie Staller from Fork in the Path for an interactive hour of hands-on fun exploring the fascinating world of mushrooms! Learn how to identify mushrooms, discover yummy edibles like chanterelles, morels, and porcini, and understand the difference between edible and poisonous varieties. We will have some specimens to touch and smell. This program is perfect for curious young minds eager to learn about the natural world.
About Fork in the Path:
"Fork in the Path offers forest-to-table learning programs for the adventurous of all ages across Northern California. We believe learning to forage and eating seasonal wild food is transformational. It helps us become more connected, whole, healthy, and happy.
Our programming includes mushroom and plant foraging, tasting wild food, cultivating a respectful and reciprocal relationship with the land, making art, and community building. We answer “Can I eat that?” and invite curiosity about everything we find within the ecosystems of our outdoor classrooms.
We work with phenomenal teachers who bring a combination of expertise, shared values, and group facilitation skills."
This event is made possible by a generous gift from the Pace Trust in support of the Berkeley Public Library North Branch.
