Special Claremont Book Club Events:
Read and Discuss To Kill a Mockingbird—Come back for the Movie

Berkeley, December 29, 2014—Join the Berkeley Public Library’s Claremont Branch Book Club in discussing To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Our book club meets 6:30 - 7:45 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Claremont Branch. Then come back to view this classic film starring Gregory Peck, on Saturday, January 24 at 3:00 pm.

Originally published in 1960, To Kill a Mockingbird became a best-seller, won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1961 and was made into an Academy Award-winning film.  Lee’s only published novel, with its memorable characters, layered meaning, powerful themes and vivid depiction of racism in the Depression-era South make for a great evening’s conversation and an afternoon’s viewing. We hope you can make both events! These free programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Public Library www.berkeleylibraryfriends.org. For questions regarding either program, call 510-981-6280.

The Claremont Branch is located at 2940 Benvenue @ Ashby, Berkeley CA 94705, and is open: Monday, 10:00 am-6:00 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:00 am-8:00 pm, Thursday 12 noon -8:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am-6:00 pm.

Wheelchair accessible. For questions, to request a sign language interpreter or other accommodations for this event, please call (510) 981-6195 (voice) or (510) 548-1240 (TTY); at least five working days will help ensure availability.
