Bring your favorite journal, art materials or just pencil and paper and join the Urban Sketching group. We sketch the world around us to observe and connect with our surroundings. Through this practice our drawing skills and confidence ultimately improve over time. Urban sketching is worldwide movement with groups all over the world! "Tell me what you pay attention to and I will tell you who you are." -José Ortega y Gasset
We will meet in front of Doe Library on the U.C. Berkeley Campus (North side of the building right at the entrance area.). We will sketch outside but if the weather is wet we have the option of going inside.
Doe Library is a great opportunity to sketch at an iconic U.C. Berkeley landmark. The architectural design of this building is called Beaux-Arts, a subset of Neoclassical and Greek Revival styles. There are columns, cornices, balustrades and other interesting features to observe. Sketchers will find a lot to sketch here, both inside and outside of the building.
