Bring your favorite journal, art materials or just pencil and paper and join us for Urban Sketching. We sketch the world around us to observe and connect with our surroundings. While drawing we try to mindfully to stay in the moment, without attachement to the final product. Through this practice our drawing skills and confidence ultimately improve over time. This group is for all levels of skill and experience.
"Tell me what you pay attention to and I will tell you who you are." -José Ortega y Gasset
We will meet on the U.C. Berkeley campus at the top of the Faculty Glade (near the western side of Hertz Hall). In the event of rain we will sketch from the covered area outside of Hertz Hall or a nearby café. Please note that there is some very limited, free 2 hour parking in this neighborhood. Future meetings will be held at other outdoor Berkeley locations.
