Día de los Muertos Community Altar @North

Día de los Muertos is a two-day Mexican holiday honoring the lives of family members, friends, and others who have passed away.  One important part of this tradition is the ofrenda (altar). The Berkeley Public Library respectfully invites community members to participate in the Día de los Muertos tradition by submitting pictures of departed loved ones for our community ofrenda.  Photo submissions can be submitted to areeder@cityofberkeley.info or at the North Branch service desk through October 27.  Join us in this Mexican practice of remembrance, healing, and celebration of life.  The Día de los Muertos community ofrenda will be on display at the North Branch Library from October 29 to November 5.  For more information, please call 510-981-6250.
