Treasures in Job Postings That Can Set You Up for Success

How about considering job postings or descriptions published on job boards and in career sections of employer websites to be the MVS (Most Valuable Step) of preparing a resume? You may find the job postings hold vital clues to matching requirements of a position you want. If you doubt where to begin your job campaign, start here. I recommend analyzing job postings even before you begin updating your resume. What treasures can you find? Relevancy of your strengths and advantages to recruiters and hiring managers, plus the employer’s needs, key words, job requirements, qualifications and, importantly too, whether the job description and level are a good fit for you. Your treasured insights from the job postings allow you to “try on” the duties and responsibilities, sense the organization culture, assess the employer’s expectations, and evaluate your opportunity to move into a desirable career path. Do they fit you?

Online via Zoom on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays monthly at 5:00 p.m.  Marilyn Tullius is the leader and organizer.
