Join us for The Completely Abridged History of East Bay Music, a humorous and immersive three-day music residency that distills six decades of mind-altering, revolutionary-starting, beat-making, and life-affirming music that originated from our very own East Bay.
Featuring: Sly and The Family Stone, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Pointer Sisters, Tower of Power, The Uptones, Too $hort, Sheila E., 2Pac, Green Day, Primus, Ledisi, Mac Dre, Tune-Yards, Toro y Moi, Fantastic Negrito, Thao Nguyen, and more! The East Bay is a haven for invention and an incubator for creativity. Music historian Mark Montgomery French reveals its influence on folk, rock, R&B, gospel, punk, Latin music, hip-hop, jazz, and experimental music. Plus, there will be jokes. And maps.
