The Foundation Center will present An Introduction to Finding Funders for Art Organizations and Individual Artists. Following this introductory course, Jayna Swartzman will speak about the Center for Cultural Innovation’s grants and resources available for individual artists and art nonprofit organizations. Both parts of the event will take place Friday, October 4, 2013 from 3:00-5:30 PM, PST, at the Central Library at 2090 Kittredge St., Berkeley, in the 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room. Part One: Introduction to Finding Funders for Art organizations and individual artists. This session provides an introduction to the Foundation Center's comprehensive online database, Foundation Directory Online Professional. Learn how to create customized searches to develop targeted lists of foundations that will match your art organization's funding needs. Another database, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, is the only online resource devoted exclusively to foundations that support the needs of individuals. This class will help you to find accurate, up-to-date information on foundations that fund individual artists. Part Two: Discover How the Center for Cultural Innovation Can Support Your Art Join with Jayna Swartzman, Program Director Bay Area for the Center for Cultural Innovation to learn about programs, grants and resources made available for individual artists and art nonprofit organizations. CCI provides direct support for art agencies and individual artist in all disciplines and career stages to build capacity and skills for success. Three grant programs, an incubator service, benefit opportunities for artists, upcoming workshops and other resources are discussed. Preregistration is suggested.
