Therapists and Life Coaches say that most people neglect these 4 areas of their lives: social connections, paperwork, reading, and exercise.
The Silent Book Club is the dream book club you always wanted (therapist approved!): you read your own book, you meet people and talk about reading, and enjoy a free mocktail! We like to call it our Introvert Happy Hour.
And we'll make those therapists and life coaches happy, too: check socializing and reading off your to do list.
Author Nat Harry visits the North Branch to discuss their now book Spirits Distilled.
Join us to discuss the book Prophet Song by Paul Lynch.
Prophet Song was 2023's Booker Prize Winner, a novel that transcends genre with its haunting prose and unflinching depiction of societal collapse.
The book club will meet in person to discuss recent literary fiction and non fiction books, on the last Saturday of the month. All sessions meet at 11am on the 5th floor.
Our Silent Book Club is an official chapter of the Silent Book Club international movement celebrating meeting up to read together.
We will get a free custom mocktail (non alcoholic drink), chat about what we are reading, read for an hour, then chat (or keep reading). It is a delight to meet others of all ages, find out what they are reading and why they like it, and get some focused reading time.
This event is open to all ages, and anyone can read anything in any format. Join in the engaging conversation about reading and meet your friendly neighbors.
