16th & Bryant : My Life and Education with the San Francisco Seals
Please visit the Berkeley Public Central Library to view a wonderful exhibit of local baseball paraphernalia in the exhibit cases facing Kittredge Street and in the flat cases on the 2nd floor, July 22-August 4, 2008. Also, Bill Soto-Castellanos will present a program about the Pacific Coast League, including the San Francisco Seals and the Oakland Oaks on Saturday, August 2, 2-4pm in the Central Library's 3rd floor Community Meeting Room. Topical Teen Book Club at Berkeley Public Library's Claremont Branch Press Release
Berkeley Public Library's Teen Services invites teens to join the Claremont Teen Book Club, where we'll talk about books previously read that relate to specific topics, such as: big fat summer reads and childhood favorites. Berkeley Public Library Branch Libraries Master Facilities Plan - Executive Summary June 2008
The four branches of the Berkeley Public Library (BPL) are over-crowded and in serious need of upgrades to the building's structural, envelope and building systems. Current deficiencies include programmatic and service space requirements as well as deferred maintenance, structural seismic retrofitting and provisions for physically disabled access. A Possible Library Bond Measure Status will be discussed at the Special Board of Library Trustees Meeting, 5pm on Tuesday, June 10, at the Central Library 3rd floor Community Meeting Room and will be taken up by City Council at their meeting Tuesday evening.

Teen Knitting Circle at Central Library, Saturday, June 7, 3 - 4:30 p.m.
Berkeley Public Library's Teen Services invites all teens to our knitting circle at the Central Library, 2090 Kittredge (at Shattuck). If you don't already know how to knit, we'll teach you - if you're an experienced knitter, come learn new tricks and share your knowledge with others. Learn how to interpret knitting patterns, and even how to knit without a pattern! Individualized instruction is available. Bring your own knitting needles (size 8 recommended for beginners). Sample yarns are provided. We'll meet on Saturday, June 7 from 3 - 4:30 p.m., in the 2nd floor Teen Area of the Central Library. No registration is required.
