Berkeley Public Library Branch Libraries Master Facilities Plan - Executive Summary June 2008
The four branches of the Berkeley Public Library (BPL) are over-crowded and in serious need of upgrades to the building's structural, envelope and building systems. Current deficiencies include programmatic and service space requirements as well as deferred maintenance, structural seismic retrofitting and provisions for physically disabled access. A Possible Library Bond Measure Status will be discussed at the Special Board of Library Trustees Meeting, 5pm on Tuesday, June 10, at the Central Library 3rd floor Community Meeting Room and will be taken up by City Council at their meeting Tuesday evening.
