April 11-17, 2010
National Library Week is an annual celebration of the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate. The theme for 2010 is "Communities thrive @ your library," and libraries across the nation look for ways to raise awareness about libraries and library services during this week.

Each April, the staff of the Berkeley Public Library devotes activities and programs in honor of this important recognition of how libraries everywhere play a vital role in supporting the quality of life in their communities. This year, Library staff is launching the first of a planned annual patron satisfaction survey, to monitor what the Library's users think of the library services they receive, and to receive feedback on potential areas of improvement.

- South Branch Library Project
Design Development Update
Wednesday, April 13th, 6:30-8:00 PM at the South Branch Library, 1901 Russell Street @ Martin Luther King, Jr., Way. Join us as the design team Field Paoli
presents more developed drawings of the proposed design, including materials
and finishes.
- North Branch Library Project
Design Development Update
Wednesday, April 14th, 6:30 PM at the Central Library, 2090 Kittredge Street, 3rd floor Community Meeting Room,
at a regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees. Join us as the design team Architectural Resources Group w/ Tom Eliot Fisch presents more developed drawings of the proposed design, including materials and finishes.
- West Branch Library Project
Schematic Design Update
Thursday, April 22nd 6:30 - 8:00 PM at West Branch, 1125 University Avenue. Join us as the architects Harley Ellis Devereaux, GreenWorks Studio discuss the next steps in the design process, including more detailed plans on the preferred scheme, landscape ideas, layout, etc.
