Ages 3-8.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Public Library.
Bella Aldama was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and started doing drag about 11 years ago to represent the LGBTQI+ Spanish-speaking community. She has organized and performed Drag Queen Story Hour in several local towns, including Concord, Sacramento, El Cerrito and Brentwood.
Bella enjoys organizing fundraisers for nonprofit organizations, such as The East Bay Sanctuary Covenant in Berkeley that helps immigrants with their legal status. She has also participated in beauty pageants (i.e., Miss and Mr. Safe Latino, Gold Pageant) to help our LGBTQ/HIV positive communities raise funds and awareness.
Bella Aldama would like to be an example for future drag queens and community leaders by bringing all people together and helping those in need.
