Join author-illustrator Rachel Michelle Wilson as she celebrates her debut picture book HOW TO PEE YOUR PANTS: THE RIGHT WAY with some absurd fun.

Following a reading and Q&A, she will challenge picture book creators Bo Lu (Bao's Doll) and Eugenia Yoh (This is Not My Home) to a good, old-fashioned DRAW OFF. Audience members will have the chance to share suggestions and ultimately tell these creators what to do! The illustrators will probably sweat, the audience will probably laugh, and a debut will be celebrated (hopefully the right way). The event will conclude with a book signing. Books will be for sale from Eastwind Books.

About:

Rachel Michelle Wilson is a children’s book author-illustrator with a sweet tooth and a dash of sass. Her debut picture book HOW TO PEE YOUR PANTS: THE RIGHT WAY is about a bird who turns an embarrassing moment into a triumph of humanity; it received both Kirkus and Publishers Weekly starred reviews. When Rachel is not making books, you can find her puzzling over a logic problem, hosting a living room dance party, or paddle boarding near her home in Washington state with her husband and dog.

Eugenia Yoh is a Taiwanese-American author-illustrator in the Bay Area. She is a children's book designer at Chronicle Books during the day and a children's book illustrator during the night. During the night she also turns into a tiny orange, but usually nobody is around to see that happen. Her first book, This Is Not My Home, is about a little girl being mad.

Bo Lu moved from the bustling streets of Taipei to the quiet suburbs of Kansas as a little girl, knowing just three English words: "Apple," "Banana," and "so-so." Before she could express herself in English, her drawings became the bridge between her two worlds. She now lives in San Mateo with her husband and their two daughters. Her debut book, Bao’s Doll, tells the story of a girl who, after stealing a doll, creates one that ultimately becomes the bridge connecting her and her immigrant mother.
