Join Kenneth Tan, author of Crescenciana: A Memoir in Words and Illustrations, for a meditative drawing activity in honor of AAPI Heritage Month!
Saturday, May 13th, 3:30-5pm, following the Fae Myenne Ng author event
Kenneth will lead us in drawing banigs (Filipino woven mats) using simple line patterns inspired by Filipino culture. The process of drawing patterns can be calming, meditative, and fun! All skill levels are welcome.

Crescenciana tells the life story of Kenneth’s grandmother, Crescenciana Tan, who survived World War II and the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. The memoir contains illustrations that Crescenciana and Kenneth created together—Crescenciana made watercolor paintings, and Kenneth drew her memories on top of them.
