In this workshop facilitated by author Ko Kim (We Are Gems), children will learn how to critically question microaggressions while embracing self-love and solidarity with Black and Indigenous-led movements for healing and justice. While the focus is on anti-Asian microaggressions, the workshop is designed to be inclusive for families and children of all backgrounds. Children attending will engage in age-appropriate anti-racist conversations and concepts. It will be followed by a children's activity about affirmations and embracing our identities. Appropriate for children in grades 2-5.
A former classroom teacher and reading coach, Ko Kim loves to see young people connect with books. She writes in service of love, healing, and justice.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
