Join us for an informative and fun gathering outside the Central Library on a warm summer evening. The Library will be celebrating National Night Out (NNO) with personal safety tips, games, and food starting at 5:00 PM. Meet new and old neighbors too! People interested in practicing their kindness skills are welcome!
More about NNO: NNO is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Berkeley's NNO is organized by the Berkeley Police Department. Gatherings are run by the efforts of neighbors and local community members. The Library's NNO seeks to bring downtown Berkeley neighbors together and to learn more about Berkeley's safety resources and plans. Some examples of what we can help you with you at NNO:
- Prepare for emergencies by signing up for Emergency Notifications
- Bookmark Berkeley’s emergency map on your web browser and phone. Practice using the search feature to look up the places you care about
- Sign up for local public safety alerts
- Create a household fire weather plan
- Visit FireSafe Berkeley to learn about programs to protect your property and community
