Join us for an evening of live music and conversation at the Hillside Club (2286 Cedar St). Author Margaret Wilkerson Sexton will discuss her book, "On the Rooftop" with host Lewis Watts, author of "Harlem of the West".
Featuring live jazz music by the legendary all women big band Melba's Kitchen.
On the Rooftop is a novel about a mother whose dream of musical stardom for her daughters collides with their own ambition set against the backdrop of San Francisco’s gentrifying Fillmore neighborhood in the 1950s.
