Berkeley Record Club presents "Punk Rock & Hardcore" @Central A&M

-

Our January session will explore punk and hardcore music, looking at regional styles from SoCal (LA and suburbs) and NorCal (the Bay Area and more) but also bringing in music from other scenes across the country and globe.

Library staff will bring some of their favorites from the Art & Music collection, as well as their own horde of tapes, LPs, and CDs. Feel free to bring some of your favorite representations of punk from your collector or request songs from the staff. You can share why you chose your selects or just enjoy the fast and aggressive sounds of a range of punk styles.

What is the Berkeley Record Club?

Berkeley Record Club is a series of music appreciation programs by the Berkeley Public Library.

Our current programming is centered around themed listening parties. During these sessions, library staff highlight gems from BPL’s music collection, while also inviting community members to bring music from their personal collections (or perhaps find their new favorites in the library!) to share with the rest of the group.

We host listening parties on 2nd Tuesday evenings of the month, 6-7:30 PM, at the Art & Music floor (5th floor) of the Central Library in Downtown Berkeley.

Stay tuned for more programs! Check the BRC webpage (coming soon), the BPL event calendar, or follow the library’s social media channels or updates.
