Clearly Meant presents: Kimi Sugioka

Local poet Kimi Sugioka will read from her work, then sit for an interview and discussion.

Kimi Sugioka is a mother, educator, songwriter and poet. She earned an MFA from Naropa University and has published two books of poetry, the newest of which is Wile & Wing (Manic D Press). She has been published in numerous anthologies and is currently the poet laureate of nearby Alameda. As an active board member for literary arts organizations, Kimi curates and hosts readings in Alameda and San Francisco. She believes that creating community through art is a revolutionary act.

Clearly Meant is an ongoing poetry & interview series at the Claremont Branch, hosted by Glenn Ingersoll. A free chapbook of Kimi Sugioka poems will be available at all Berkeley Public Library branches from mid-January. The chapbook will also be available at the event. Stop by the Claremont branch any time to pick up copies of chapbooks from past Clearly Meant events.
