Come celebrate our Berkeley Youth Poet Laureate 2025 cohort! We are thrilled to announce our 2025 Berkeley Youth Poet Laureate and Vice Laureate at this special event. There will also be live performances from teen poets, judges, and our 2024 winners. Refreshments provided. All ages are welcome, though some content may be more appropriate for teens and up.

Clearly Meant reading & interview series joins Beast Crawl, the annual downtown Oakland literary festival.
Poets Joyce E. Young, Tim Xonnelly, Jair "The Literary Masturbator", Maureen Hurley, and host Glenn Ingersoll will be celebrating nine years of the Claremont Branch series during Leg 2 (5:30-6:30pm) of the Beast Crawl. The reading will take place at Itani Ramen, 1736 Telegraph Ave (at 18th St).
Come by Youth Spirit Artworks, on 1740 Alcatraz Ave (about a 15 min walk from the Tarea Hall Pittman South Branch) for a youth open mic night! You can sign up to perform or show up to support, all are welcome. There will be free food and Berkeley Public Library swag. Open to performers ages 16-25 years old. All poetry, music, dance, or other performance art is welcome. There will be special performances by the Berkeley Youth Poet Laureates and more!
