Maureen Hurley reads her poetry, then sits for an interview and discussion, as part of the Clearly Meant series.
A West Marin native, Maureen Hurley has taught poetry for many years in Bay Area schools, including here in Berkeley at Alexander Valley and Malcolm X. Her writing appears in a variety of venues, in print and online, including in the anthologies Atomic Ghost, House on Via Gambito, and a forthcoming anthology of poems on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Catching the Last Light. Also a visual artist, Hurley’s photos of Julia Vinograd will be featured in a documentary on the Berkeley Street Poet.
A free chapbook of Maureen Hurley poems will be available at all BPL branches during the month preceding the event. Pick one up! (There will also be copies at the reading.)
