Strategy 1: Get your information together. Start with your current job and past resumes, plus job postings. Add a list of your strengths and accomplishments. Then analyze 1-15 job postings in the industry and job role you prefer. Identify key words and phrases. Assess your strengths and deficits for the job you want. Strategy 2: Focus on problems you want to solve. Learn about the prospective employer’s industry and organization. Evaluate the employers’ priorities and issues. Carry out research including online searches, LinkedIn Company pages, reviews, and more. What change-making capabilities can you offer? Strategy 3: Go simple on formatting: Use a visual layout that survives digital scanning but also sends your message in 8 seconds for eyeball skimmers. Strategy 4: Emphasize results. Set up your bullet points to show you in action taking initiative and meeting challenges. Weave in factors that ensure your effectiveness: soft skills, and also character, style, values, and attributes. Easy? No. But we will show you how and answer your questions, too.
