Cafe Ohlone Talks is now a regular event here at the Berkeley Public Library! Join us once a month for an educational session with mak-‘amham/Cafe Ohlone founders Vincent Medina and Louis Trevino. Each month we’ll be discussing a topic related to East Bay Ohlone culture, experiences, and community.
Because of the seasonal nature of Cafe Ohlone, our sessions will take place over Zoom in summer and winter, but at the cafe itself in fall and spring.
Join us for a special story time in celebration of Juneteenth featuring Storyteller Kirk Waller. Kirk will share traditional African American stories and songs.
Come and enjoy traditional Juneteenth sweet tea and tea cakes, a cute craft, and a story in celebration of Freedom Day at West Branch. Also pick up some swag while you're in!

Attend a live film screening of the award-winning documentary, Afro-Punk ,followed by a live virtual presentation and Q&A session with the filmmaker, James Spooner. This event is in the 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room at the Central Library.
Join us for Unsung Women of Music, a humorous, highly immersive, and historically accurate talk that reveals the awe-inspiring female song makers, beat-shakers, and dealmakers nudged to the margins of music history.
