Chinese Brush Painting @West

Join us on this auspicious day, the day after 'arrival of spring' in the lunar calendar. Artist Pauline Tsui will present a talk on customs of the Lunar New Year, with origins of the Dragon Dance, stories of the Zodiac animals, and a description of how people celebrate the Spring Festival today. After the talk, explore basic techniques of Chinese brush painting. You will learn to paint flowers and animals and learn to write simple characters and phrases.

Join humanistic astrologer Jessica Lanyadoo as she discusses the ways astrology can help you be kinder to yourself and others.

Drawing from her personal journey into astrology and her many years of helping people as a  Psychic Medium, tarot reader, and Animal Communicator, Jessica offers a unique and modern view of this ancient practice.

Teen Movie: Growing Up Trans @THP South

Join friends for a screening of Growing Up Trans, a candid documentary about what life is like growing up transgender.

This free program is offered in partnership with the Longfellow Middle School Proud Parents and Allied Adults group and sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Public Library (www.berkeleylibraryfriends.org)

Lucha Libre Loteria @THP South

Learn Spanish from a real-life luchador! Join us for a fun game of Lotería for kids and families with wrestlers from Oasis Pro Wrestling!

Lotería is a traditional game enjoyed by many people in Mexico that is similar to bingo - instead of listening for the numbers you have on your card, you listen for the cantor (the caller) to call out the images on your tabla (game card).

This event will take place on Saturday, December 2 from 3pm tp 4pm.  It will be followed by a meet-and-greet with the wrestlers.
