The beginning of the school year can bring up a lot of emotions - maybe you are nervous, excited, anxious, lonely, overwhelmed, or all of the above! Come by the North Branch after school to make a self-care kit full of goodies to help you through the beginning of the school year. There will also be volunteers from SafeSpace, a peer-led mental health organization, there to share resources with you. Find out more about them here: https://safespace.org/ . All middle and high schoolers welcome.
We have an incredible Community Liason Officer, Kajahna Futch, supporting the Claremont Branch and surrounding area. Meet her in this special outdoor visiting session open to all. We'll have snacks, too.
Enjoy a series of farm animal-themed paper crafting sessions!
All supplies and instructions will be provided. This program is most suitable for children in preschool and kindergarten.
Join us for an evening of music, laughter, and self-expression at Loud in the Library: Queeraoke! Get ready to share your inner diva and embrace the spotlight as we bring the joy of karaoke to the library. This lively event will be hosted by Jota Mercury, an international award winning drag performer who uses drag to challenge machismo as we know it.
Teens, join us every Wednesday in the Community Meeting Room to play Nintendo, board games, cards, and do crafts. Free snacks will be served! All middle and high schoolers welcome.
No games club on December 27, January 3, March 13, and April 3.
Join East Bay Parks naturalists to learn about the differences between reptiles, amphibians, and humans. They will even be a real reptile for you to meet!
Excited about the Berkeley Youth Poet Laureate program, but not sure how to get started? Come and get inspired by fellow poets! We'll read a selection of published poems, spend time writing, and have time to share your poems. We can also answer questions about the Youth Poet Laureate program, help with applications, or assist with other writing questions.
