Diana Gameros to Perform at Berkeley Public Library’s West Branch

Berkeley, June 12, 2015 – Join us for an afternoon of songs expressing love, longing and hope by Bay Area musician Diana Gameros.  She performs Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 2:30 pm at the West Branch of Berkeley Public Library located at 1125 University Avenue (near San Pablo Avenue). Gameros transfixes listeners with her soaring vocals, impressive playing and captivating stage presence. For more information about this free concert, call 510-981-6121 or 510-981-6270.

Diana Gameros hails from Cuidad Juarez, Mexico and now calls the Bay Area home. A talented and versatile performer, she sings in both English and Spanish. One music journalist referred to Gameros as “the Latin Feist.” Indeed, her Latin American influences — including contemporary artists like Bebel Gilberto, Fabulosos Cadillacs and Café Tacuba — are woven into her musical DNA. Gameros released her first official album, entitled, Eterno Returno, in November of 2013.

In addition to being a burgeoning artist and playing at important local venues such as Freight & Salvage and with the Oakland Symphony. Ms. Gameros is also a committed activist. She is promotes social justice and global awareness through her support of organizations like ALIADI (Alianza Latinoamericana por los Derechos de los Inmigrantes), Biosafety Alliance, Urban Sprouts, SF Living Wage Coalition and 16 Days of ARTivism. In 2014, she received the Emerging Leader Award from the Chicana Latina Foundation for her music and activism. For information about Ms. Gameros: http://dianagameros.com/
