Learn about Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s The Last Tiger in Haiti
at Berkeley Public Library

Berkeley, CA. October 20, 2016 – In light of the recent hurricane damage in Haiti, the country is in the headlines again. Coincidentally, Haiti is the subject of our ongoing series, featuring docents from the Berkeley Repertory Theatre talking about its current production, The Last Tiger in Haiti. This free lecture is Monday, October 24, at 4:00 pm at Central Library, at 2090 Kittredge (at Shattuck) in the third floor Community Meeting Room.

Learn more about Jeff Augustin’s gripping narrative of survival and betrayal. The Last Tiger in Haiti is about five children in modern-day Haiti, all entangled in a dark history of servitude. Huddled in a tent on Mister’s land, the youngster would spin spellbinding folktales, vying for the title of best storyteller- and dreaming of their freedom. When two of them reunite fifteen years later, the boundary between reality and fiction vanishes, revealing secrets of their past more haunting than any of the tales they told.  The Last Tiger in Haiti will be at Berkeley Repertory Theatre from October 14 – November 27 at the Peet’s Theatre (formerly the Thrust Stage). For more information, visit www.berkeleyrep.org. For information about this free program, call 510-981-6241
