Design the Library’s New Library Card!

Submit your design by Saturday, June 29, 2024

Berkeley, California (May 14, 2024) – The Library will have a new library card this year… created by a community member! Artists of all ages are welcome to submit designs. The theme is “kindness.”

Submit designs by Saturday, June 29, 2024 to BPLCardContest@berkeleyca.gov along with a completed entry/release agreement.

For detailed information on submission formats, dimensions, and more, visit the Library's card design contest webpage.

“Berkeley is full of creative people so we can’t wait to see what is created,” says Rudy Tapia, Berkeley Public Library Circulation Services Manager. “The design theme of ‘Kindness’ is a core value that library staff strive towards whether it is at one of our programs, at an outreach event or at our service desks. We see community members being kind to one another every day in our libraries. Soon, everyone will be able to take a little bit of kindness with them in the form of a library card!”

The new card will be available to the public in September, to celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month.

For questions regarding the contest, contact Rudy Tapia at (510) 981-6195 or RTapia@berkeleyca.gov.
